For better or worse, the dead are gone from us; but what if they are not truly gone?  And if their shades linger, might they also return?  A stage adaptation by Rudra Dutta of the story by the same name by the famous Bengali litterateur Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay - a story that may give us shiver or two, but leaves us reflecting on the mysteries of the heart, soul, and identity.

What is justice? Is it simply a verdict by the court constrained by the boundaries of the law? Or is it the ruthless search for the truth aided by the deep probing “third eye”? This is the conundrum that manifests itself in its gory details in the enactment of - Tritiyo Noyon - by Chicago NatyoGoshthi. The ebb and flow of logic, emotion, vindictiveness and veiled nuances are rendered through edge-of-the-seat excitement in this play. What transpires in the drama reaches an unexpected crescendo highlighting the third eye’s truth seeking dominance over the limitations of man-made legal system.

The Kolkatta RG Kar protests, sparked by a tragic incident of violence against women, and the administration's indifference towards crimes against women, have transcended their immediate context to become part of a broader global dialogue on gender-based violence. Initially ignited by the public's outrage over a specific case, these protests have highlighted systemic issues regarding women's safety and rights, resonating with similar movements worldwide. Our presentation today's reflects on this political apathy towards violence against women and is a call to arms to make our voices heard.
The script is based, in part, on poems by Mallika Sengupta, Taslima Nasrin and Rudranil. The songs are by Bhupen Hazarika, Akash Chakraborty, Indrani Sen, Lopamudra Mitra.
