Help Us Take Avinash to the Nationals!
Your support can help our young performers shine on a national stage.
Avinash, written and directed by Arindam Ghosh, is an original play by Ebong Theatrix that has made history—selected for both the AACT (American Association of Community Theatre) National Youth Festival and the AACT National Festival. This is a first for our community and a proud moment for our young team of artists.
We're now preparing to travel to Des Moines, Iowa this June to bring this powerful, urgent story to a national audience. But we can’t do it without your help.
We're raising $2,000–$3,000 to help cover critical travel and lodging costs for our cast and crew—made up of passionate youth performers, dedicated chaperones, and backstage support. While families are pitching in and we’re exploring grants and sponsorships, we need the community’s support to bridge the gap.
🎭 Every dollar helps us lift our voices a little louder.
💫 Every donation fuels not just a play, but a dream.

Synopsis
Avinash is a one-act that delves into the escalating hostility faced by the LGBTQ community and non-binary individuals, portraying such challenging scenarios within the contexts of both India and the United States. The play sheds light on how religion is sometimes weaponized to target these marginalized groups, while in other instances, their vulnerable status as immigrants is exploited to intimidate them. Though the situations depicted are entirely fictional, the inspiration behind the play stems from the tragic recent murder of a renowned Indian dancer and artist in the United States.
